Product Specification: LION® R30031 (Stellite 31 / X-40 Type)
LION® R30031 is a high-strength, cobalt-base superalloy designed for the most demanding high-temperature environments. Unlike wear-focused Tribaloy grades, R30031 (traditionally known as Stellite 31 or X-40) is optimized for creep resistance Dan stress-rupture strength at elevated temperatures up to 1000°C.
1. Key Technical Features
- Superior Stress-Rupture Life: Outperforms many nickel-based alloys in high-temperature stress environments.
- Thermal Fatigue Resistance: Excellent durability under rapid thermal cycling and mechanical shock.
- High-Temperature Oxidation: Resistant to scaling and environmental attack in atmospheres up to 1150°C (2100°F).
- Balanced Ductility: Offers better elongation (approx. 10%) than high-hardness wear alloys, reducing the risk of catastrophic failure under impact.
