Product Specification: LION® R30001 (Stellite 1 Type)
LION® R30001 is a high-carbon, tungsten-strengthened cobalt-chromium alloy. It is specifically engineered for the most severe service conditions where abrasive wear is the primary failure mode. By incorporating a massive volume of primary chromium carbides (Cr7C3), it offers significantly higher hardness and life expectancy than Stellite 6 or 12 in slurry and abrasive environments.
1. Composition chimique détaillée (% en poids)
| Co | Cr | W | C | Fe | Dans | Et | Mn |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Équilibre | 28.0-32.0 | 11.0-13.0 | 2.0-3.0 | ≤3,0 | ≤3,0 | ≤2,0 | ≤1,0 |
2. Hot Hardness Data (Hardness vs. Temperature)
R30001 is renowned for maintaining its hardness at temperatures where standard steels soften significantly:
- Température ambiante : 50 – 58 HRC
- 400 °C (750 °F) : 42 HRC
- 600°C (1110°F) : 37 HRC
- 760°C (1400°F): 32 HRC
- 870°C (1600°F): 28 HRC
3. Mechanical & Physical Constants
- Densité: 8,69 g/cm³ (0,314 lb/po³)
- Plage de fusion : 1248°C – 1290°C (2278°F – 2355°F)
- Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS): 550 MPa (80,000 psi)
- Conductivité thermique: 14.5 W/m·K (at Room Temp)
- Résistivité électrique: 94.0 μ-ohm·cm
- Abrasion Resistance: Maximum (Highest carbide volume of the standard series)
4. Applications principales
Targeted at high-abrasion environments where toughness is secondary to wear life:
- Manipulation des fluides : Pump sleeves, rotary seal rings, and expeller screws.
- Fabrication: Bearing sleeves, wear pads, and centerless grinding work rests.
- Industrial Machinery: Drawing blocks and screw presses.
- Tooling: Specialized cutting edges for plastic and paper processing.
5. Fabrication & Machining Guidance
- Welding & Hardfacing: Recommended for PTA (Arc transféré par plasma) and Laser Cladding. Due to high hardness, it is **crack-sensitive**. High preheat (500°C – 600°C) and slow cooling are essential to minimize stresses.
- Usinage: Extremely difficult to machine. Conventional turning and milling are not recommended. It should only be finished by Diamond Grinding or EDM.
